… The Shop ! … it’s The Sheffield Cats Shelter Shop ! …

…. I delivered my watercolour of this shop, yesterday, and hope it will raise much-needed funds for The Sheffield Cats Shelter, a charity who have been rescuing & re-homing cats & kittens since 1897 !

… seen here is the shop, which accepts public donations of quality clothes, books, jewellery, household items, which are then sold to raise funds for the cats & kittens, Every penny counts.
On the right, Dorothy and Stuart, receiving my painting. Dorothy has recently received recognition from the Prime Minister, for her outstanding service for the Cats Shelter.

Tabby Teas – Cat Cafe ! …. and me ! …. a fabulous time ! ….

…. I’ve been wanting to experience this “Cat Cafe” in Sheffield, for 5 years ! and I finally got here today. I had an amazing time, seen here with my Mum, and Charlotte of Tabby Teas, and cats Monty (& Purditta, behind). It was awesome, beyond my expectations ! 🙂

“Monty” is checking out my watercolour of “Tabby Teas & Husk” which will be in Exhibition in Sheffield Winter Gardens, 21-27th May 2023….. I think he approves 🙂

Also, “Domino” who was a little suspicious of the painting, and preferred spinning on the wheel ! We had a fabulous time and I can’t wait to go back !

“Two Owls” …. aka fans of Sheffield Wednesday ….

…. my watercolour of two “hound” fans of Sheffield Wednesday Football Club (“Owls”) …

The painting was autioned last week and raised £220, which has been shared between two local charities – Friends of Ferals (Sheffield cat rescue) and Sheffield Retired Greyhounds.

…. an Edwardian villa, beautifully restored and now an independant, Award-winning boutique hotel and Michelin Guide-listed neighbourhood kitchen restaurant ! Next door to Endcliffe Park, at Hunter’s Bar and Brocco Bank, and a short walk from the Botanical Gardens….
….. I rarely paint white ‘hounds, probably because I haven’t seen many, in Sheffield ! and I’m very pleased wth this one ❤

.. A man & his dog … on the day of the Queen’s funeral…..

… walking through the Peace Gardens in Sheffield. The man & his dog were there at 10 am, walking in the drizzle…..

… by 11 am the sky brightened and the sun appeared, between clouds.

Having ventured to the Peace Gardens for some peace ! I was intially wary to see a huge media screen was installed, covering the days event. However, it was perfect. It felt a special place to watch the funeral, and the crowd – of young, old, and all nationalities – was respectful, supportive, and a pleasure to be part of.

A touching and memorable experience.

.. a Parade of Shops and The Waggon & Horses …new 360° Panorama ! …

… at Millhouses, Sheffield ….. the shops & businesses are on Terminus Road (a terminus of “first generation” electric trams, phased out in the 1950’s) …

… the Waggon & Horses pub, opposite, is over 100 years old, and has a new outdoor “cabin”, popular with dog-walkers and families with children, visiting Millhouses Park…..

… back in the 1970’s there was a traditional Grocer’s shop. Today the Parade includes a Lifestyle shop – Homeware, gifts and Martha’s Kitchen – a fabulous restaurant/cafe…. hair & beauty, an optician, and a favourite of mine, a fantastic musical instrument shop, which also offers a full range of Tuition – we are very lucky to have such a shop locally (indeed, in Sheffield at all !)….

… the shops, Park and Pub are all well worth a visit !

This original watercolour painting will be in an Exhibition at Sheffield Winter Gardens, 9-16th October 2022 (Heeley Art club). Framed, total size 87 x 34 cm, £450.

… at the Infant School ! .. very special new painting …

… my latest Commission …. Hunter’s Bar Infant School …. all the people in the painting are “real”, and it celebrates the School winning the TES Environment Award, their many “green” initiatives, and even the “Friendship Bench”…..
