….. sorting out some old paintings , I quite liked this one, especially the newspaper corner – I’m not sure how I did that ! ….. this is Coffee Revolution, Ecclesall Road, popular but no longer with us …….
….. small still-life …..
….. of a unique, hand carved wooden bee, Made in Sheffield, by Nick Hunter ….. and an antique badge, in a matchbox …..

….. here’s a recent sketch whilst waiting for someone at the Eye Hospital. A more obscure subject than usual, but making myself draw things as they arise, whether I “like” them or not, is a good discipline I think…..(adverse conditions too – busy hospital, standing room only and a new sketchbook with very “challenging” paper…) …..
…..speaking of discipline (you will gather, I have none), my very wise Agent has grounded me from attempting to go to the Farmers Market today – we are snowed (and iced) in and it was total madness on my part, so at the last minute I have finally seen the sensible option…..(and I’m still not happy about it 😦 as I SO wanted to be there !)…..as my buddy, L, would say “Waaaaaaaah !!!!”…..
….. subjects – yes, Fiat 500’s !….. here is a little black “Gucci” one at Nether Edge, that I have spotted a few times. I’m not sure about these ink sketches/watercolours, but I quite like doing them as the ink is not water-proof so the “blurriness” can easily get out of hand 🙂 …..
….. Parker Roller Ball (fine, black) with Holbein Artists Watercolours on Canson 200 gsm.
….. is the local Farmers Market, for which I was asked to design the publicity flyer ….. and here it is …….
….. its a bit wonky I now see, but thats vertigo for you 🙂 …… more importantly it features my “muse” Dennis (bottom left corner) peeking in ….. and Jean of Green End Farm, in her long green coat, who brings along her own-grown plants & shrubs (yes, an actual farmer !) …..
….. Many thanks to NENG* for asking me to do this flyer 🙂 ……
….. all being well, I will be there with my artwork, and many of the local shops open on market sundays too – such as Emma at The Old Sweet Shop (purple shop in the flyer) which has a fantastic range of eclectic artwork and gifts ….. as well as over 80 stalls, crafts, food, there is lots of live entertainment too…..

…..Last sunday at the farmers market, I spotted a greyhound with a distinctive collar, like the one featured in my Nether Edge 360 painting…..
…..Brilliantly, it is definitely the very dog ! who is actually a Lurcher, and is called “Selkie” . She is 11 years old, and from what I could tell, she is happy to be in the painting 🙂
