
Devonshire Street hosts many small Independent stores, and part of this street faces demolition as part of a future development. I wanted my painting to capture the unique Spirit of the Street now …

… and probably my favourite. Not just for the stunningly unique frontage (with the Phlegm “Bookworm”) but for selling books. Actual books ! not e-versions. two whole floors of Books, Records – vinyl records ! – CD’s, Art & Prints, to cater for every taste, no matter how esoteric.

It was great today to see these special edition bottles of the famous Sheffield icon, Hendersons Relish. I was asked to design the label, to promote Sheffield Retired Greyhound Fund, and raise awareness of the plight of greyhounds needing to find homes when they retire from racing ….. the first bottles hit the streets today ……
huge thanks to my models, who were real Hounds at SRGF – many thanks to them – Freddie, Dougie and Dibnah (who all now have loving new homes) ….. many others still need homes …..
….. a dilemma now that the charger port is worn out (!) ….. to replace, upgrade, or not …..
….. its only a phone, but it has a lot of sentimental value. It was given to me by someone whose cat I rescued, and already well used by her, but I think I will be keeping it 🙂 ….. I started this drawing at 10.43, finished and photographed it at 14.44 (but I did have lunch in between !) …..

and Great News ! ….. my “Sprite” greyhound painting raised a grand total of £500 ! for Sheffield Retired Greyhound Fund, when the auction finished on 1st August ….. a really great result and it will all go to help find new homes for these elegant, loving and deserving Hounds …..
